When you're pregnant, you have to do what you can do take better care for both yourself and your unborn baby. If you aren't caring for your own self, think about what it's doing to your baby. You need to take extra care of yourself, know when to rest, and know when to ask for help to prevent any undo stress on your unborn child. 1. Get Rest When Needed

You're going to need to get your rest, especially before the baby arrives, so be sure you are getting enough sleep and rest when necessary. Don't push yourself too far or too hard to get things done around your house or day to day, you aren't going to be able to keep up like you once did doing things every single day. Eventually it's going to wear on you and you are going to add more stress to you and to your baby. This stress can be hard on your unborn baby's organs and too much stress can cause health problems for your baby. Get plenty of rest and sleep every night and take breaks when you need to.

2. Change Your Diet

How you eat is going to affect your unborn baby. You need to eat more than you once did, skipping meals is a no-no and you need to eat healthy meals every day. Eating candy for breakfast and skipping lunch, then drinking coffee all day long isn't going to cut it. You need to eat balanced meals to help with your baby's development. Make sure your diet includes plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, enough protein and lean dairy products. 

3. Stop Smoking

Smoking can constrict the blood vessels in the body. The smoke you are breathing, and the other harsh toxins in cigarettes, can be harmful to both you and to your unborn child. It can cause birth defects and other issues for your baby. If you are a smoker and you are pregnant, you need to stop smoking immediately. You also should not be around anyone that is smoking, as second-hand smoke can be just as harmful to you both.

Your unborn baby is relying on you to care for it, so you have to do what you can to care for yourself so you can care for your baby as well.
